    The current which flows through the internal resistance of a capacitor causes
heat which evaporates some of the liquid electrolyte. In a 10 year old display many
of the caps are "dried-out". Voltage ripple and spikes are not smoothed, then other
components fail. The bad component and the cap which caused it to fail could be
replaced, but all too soon another worn-out cap will cause another trip to the shop
(and another repair charge). Logic indicates that a better method is simply to replace
ALL the ELECTROLYTIC CAPS, then replace any bad components and the CRT.
The risk of future down-time is the most important thing, not my repeated profits from
future repairs on the same piece of equipment. 
    If it was a car, would you trust a repairman who replaced one spark-plug?
